Lordship of Calendo

This title is being sold by, guess who????   Manorial Counsel for a rip off price of £2,145

It does not exist. The research undertaken by Manorial Counsel must have taken them 5 minutes.

Take a look at:  Appendix: Manors that cannot be situated in parishes | British History Online (british-history.ac.uk)

You will be ripped off if you purchase this Mickey Mouse title.

One clue is that there was a manor called Calensoe, but it did not hold administrative duties, it was too late in time. it was just a large manor house

Manor Houses with administrative duties were very lucrative enterprises and these were issued by William the Conqueror to his right hand men in battle. Manors were originally held by Barons. The term Lord of the Manor only came in to the vocabulary during the 16th century.

The above title being sold by Manorial Counsel was researched by a client, who sent me the details he had uncovered. He is spot on with all the research.  There is only one paragraph detailing the 'possible' manor of Calendo, then you will see from the 'Appendix' link above, authoritative questions over the manor names and parishes.
